House of Hope
Above Roofing is proud to contribute a new roof for the House of Hope. The building is for rescued victims of human trafficking (women & children). It provides a safe haven for them to recover from the abuses they suffered. All materials and labor were donated by local businesses.
October Is Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Above Roofing is organizing a community “scarf drive” in partnership with Hope Scarves, a non-profit organiztion. Hope Scarves’ mission is to support people facing cancer. Learn more about Hope Scarves. The scarf drive runs through the month of October, and we have a collection bin in our Jenison office at 1731 DeWent Dr., Suite A, Jenison, MI 49428

- Scarves should be 30″ square or larger or 17″ wide oblong
- We accept light-weight infinity scarves, pre-sewn, buff or turban or pashmina scarves
- Scarves needed are the kind of scarves needed to cover your head, not winter scarves

What Does It Mean To Live A Hopeful Life?
- Join Art Plewka as he walks through the book “A Hopeful Life” that was written by his daughter, Lara MacGregor, who founded the organization Hope Scarves and wrote this book prior to her death.
- In-person event is on Monday, Oct. 9, at 4:30 pm.
- Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids is located at 1806 Bridge St. NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504.

We Are A Proud Supporter of the Humane Society of West Michigan
We have a long-standing relationship with the Humane Society of West Michigan. In 2019, we donated a vehicle to them, so they could use it when transporting animals. We’ve since been a yearly contributor, and helped sponsor some local events. We consider Above Roofing to be a Different Breed of Roofer, and we’re passionate about dogs and other animals here. This is an organization close to our hearts, and we’re passionate about helping to support them.

Lakeshore Habitat For Humanity
New Townhomes
On August 15 and 16, we volunteered with the Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity. We helped with sanding, painting, caulking and more at their new townhomes in Hudsonville. The homes are built for specific families, and each family is required to volunteer time to help build their own homes. These townhomes directly help those in our community, and are a symbol of what can be done when we work together!
Other Organizations We Support
Bangla Ministries
An organization committed to helping the people of Bangladesh, and sharing the gospel with them. Above Roofing recently gave $12K to provide bibles to all the graduates of the recent program.
We sponsor 7 children through this organization, helping children to find long-term sustainability of children and their communities. The focus here is on community development, working with local leaders and building on existing resources in communities to implement long-term sustainable change.
