A different breed of roofer, since 1996.
Family-owned, pet-friendly, and rooted in West Michigan for 30 years. We understand a new roof is one of the most significant investments you'll make in your home — and that's something we never forget.
Roofing experts who never compromise.
Above Roofing is proud to be a top-rated roofing company in the Grand Rapids area. We've been in business since 1996 and we care about our community. If our ratings, certifications and reviews don't convince you, we'll come to your home and prove it in person.
We do everything we can to be West Michigan's roofing contractor of choice and to make sure your investment is worth every penny. We hold ourselves to a high level of integrity, we communicate as clearly as we can, and we train our team to bring real expertise to every roof.
Family-owned and pet-friendly since 1996.
Because we never compromise. Neither should you.
Integrity
We tell the truth, even when it costs us the job. No upsells, no gimmicks — just honest counsel. If your roof has years left in it, we'll say so.
Care
We respect your home, your time, and your investment. We show up when we say we will, protect your landscaping, and leave your property cleaner than we found it.
Craftsmanship
We install complete roofing systems designed to last. Certified installers, materials built for Michigan weather, and a lifetime workmanship warranty on every roof.
The people who make us a different breed of roofer.
Our team will do whatever it takes to install your new roof or repair your existing roof correctly.

Meet Rufus — a different breed of roofer.
Not every business has a mascot, but at Above Roofing we have Rufus, a border collie and our current mascot. As a "different breed of roofer," Rufus represents our team and our commitment to your protection. When you see him in our advertising around the community, we hope you think: hardworking, friendly, and smart.
Dogs provide protection and comfort. So do our roofs. We're so committed to those values that we support the Humane Society of West Michigan through our work on your home, financial gifts, and volunteering — helping give dogs like Rufus a great life.
What's with the dog on your trucks and in your ads?
That's Rufus, our current mascot and a border collie. He's a symbol of our commitment to protection, hard work, friendly service, and comfort for families and the pets they love. We partner with the Humane Society of West Michigan to promote the humane treatment and responsible care of animals.
Why that breed?
Border collies are hardworking, loyal, friendly, and very smart — qualities that Rufus represents as our mascot.
Why the Humane Society of West Michigan?
Because they're in our backyard, and they promote the humane treatment and responsible care of animals through education, example, placement, and protection. Learn more at hswestmi.org.
Do you partner with any other animal organizations?
Yes — Camp Bow Wow of Hudsonville. Roofing work can be stressful for dogs, and Camp Bow Wow is a great doggie daycare for our clients' pets. We offer their clients special deals and they do the same for ours.
Awards & affiliations.
We're proud of the work — and grateful when others notice. But the recognition we care about most still comes from the families we serve.
