Unlike harder sealants that can dry out and crack over time, it is designed to remain pliable and accommodate the slight structural shifts caused by years of temperature and weather changes
NailTrak® wide nailing area has helped contractors install our shingles with speed, accuracy, and confidence for more than a decade. NailTrak removes the guesswork with three separately defined lines, presenting a large area to guide nailing and a smaller area for extreme steep-slope applications.
CertainTeed’s shingles are certified as meeting the industry’s toughest third-party (UL) manufacturing quality standards. They have a Class A fire-resistance rating.
From the date of installation, CertainTeed warrants to the original property owner/consumer that, when subject to normal and proper use, its shingles will be free from manufacturing defects for the warranty period specified in Table 1. CertainTeed will pay to repair, replace or clean, at its option, any shingles CertainTeed determines are defective under the terms of this Limited Warranty. In the event of repair, replacement or cleaning pursuant to the terms of this Limited Warranty, the warranty applicable to the original shingles shall apply to the repaired, replaced or cleaned shingles and will extend for the balance of the original warranty period. Lifetime means for as long as the original individual property owner owns the property where the shingles are installed.

CertainTeed SureStart Warranty Guide
All CertainTeed shingles carry the standard SureStart warranty protection, which fully covers your shingles in the event of a manufacturing defect during the vital early years following installation. Once the SureStart period ends you are covered for shingles only and at a reduced rate as the roof ages.
When you choose an Integrity Roof System™, installed by Above Roofing (a CertainTeed Credentialed contractor) you have the opportunity to further protect your investment with SureStart PLUS. SureStart Plus takes traditional SureStart protection and extends FULL coverage for up to 50 years depending on the level of protection you choose.

Low-Slope Sections: lf a project being roofed with Certain Teed shingles has a low-slope section 1,000 square feet (10 squares) or less using our Flintlastic-a SA modified asphalt.self-adhered roof system, or our SMARTCOAP” liquid-applied roof restoration systems, installed by a Certain Teed Commercial Credentialed contractor, SureStart Plus extends FULL coverage for the duration of the low-slope warranted period, depending on the level of protection you choose. Residential shingles must be a minimum of one and a half times (1.SX) the amount of flat roof submitted. See Low-Slope Residential Limited Warranty for system requirements and warranty durations.
