Skylights that let in light, not water.
Velux-certified installation, replacement, and re-flashing. We bring daylight into your home — without the leaks.
Skylights are wonderful — when they're installed properly. The problem is, most skylight leaks aren't caused by the skylight itself; they're caused by improper flashing where the skylight meets the roof. We're Velux-certified installers, and we've been correctly flashing skylights into West Michigan roofs for decades. Whether you want to add a new skylight, replace an aging unit, or re-flash one that's been leaking for years, we'll get it right. Done properly, a Velux skylight will outlast your roof. Looking for daylight in a hallway, closet, or interior room with no roofline access? A sun tunnel is often the perfect answer — a small reflective tube that channels natural light from the roof down into the space below.

Sun Tunnels — daylight for the rooms a skylight can't reach.
Not every room has the roofline or ceiling space for a traditional skylight — and that's exactly where a sun tunnel shines. A sun tunnel (also called a sun tube or tubular skylight) is a compact, highly reflective tube that channels natural daylight from your roof down into the room below. From the outside it's a small, low-profile dome on the roof; from the inside it looks like a clean, flush ceiling light that happens to run on sunshine.
They're perfect for the spaces that always seem dark: interior bathrooms, hallways, walk-in closets, laundry rooms, stairwells, and kitchens with no exterior wall for a window. Because the tube is sealed and routed through the attic, a properly installed sun tunnel brings in surprising brightness without the heat gain, leak risk, or cost of a full skylight.
Why homeowners love them:
- Far less expensive and quicker to install than a traditional skylight
- No exterior wall or large ceiling opening required — daylight reaches interior rooms
- Energy-free lighting during the day, which can cut down on electric use
- Low-profile on the roof and flush on the ceiling — clean and unobtrusive
- Installed and flashed correctly so they stay watertight, just like our skylights
If you've got a room that always needs the lights on in the middle of the day, a sun tunnel is often the simplest, most affordable fix. We'll take an honest look and tell you whether a skylight or a sun tunnel is the better answer for your space.

Questions our neighbors ask.
A little daylight inspiration.

The recognition we care about most.
"They told me my roof had another five years left and I didn't need to replace it. Most contractors would have sold me a new roof. That's the kind of honesty I trust — and why I'll call them when I do need one."
"From the inspection through the final cleanup, the Above Roofing crew was respectful, on-time, and clearly knew what they were doing. The yard was spotless when they left. Would hire again in a heartbeat."
"After a hailstorm, I had three roofers out. Above Roofing was the only one who walked me through the insurance process honestly and didn't try to sell me on damage that wasn't there. Genuine, skilled, and fair."
